I found a canadian vpn that costs $3 per month. It seems to work most of the time anyway, and not be too slow (it takes some effort to find canadian vpn servers outside of Toronto, strangely). Probably not as good as using a Swiss or Dutch server, but probably quite a bit faster. A compromise.
