Hey all -

I am new to the site but not sooo new to the concept of living in a community of freedom. As I have been nearing the end of my service in the US Navy I have been looking for a place for my family and I to settle... I had been strongly considering sites in Latin America (I grew up in Panama) but am loathe to quit my country for political reasons that could be within our grasp to fix...

So, as an offshoot of my libertarian beliefs, I began to research the Free State Project... Although I have nothing against NH (I lived in upstate NY for a few years) but, as Boston points out in Molon Labe the better prospect is WY. I won't "dis" NH as choice is good...better 2 FSPs than just one right? In any event, I am beginning to do my research on WY and life post military retirement there...so, that said, any pointers on what I ought to be taking in to consideration as I plan to bring myself and my family (wife and 3 young kids) to the Cowboy State?

Thanks!

Welcome, Damien! The first thing to do is read as much as you can here at the forum to learn about Wyoming and us curmudgeons who have populated it. :) Please ask questions if you don't see what you need.

Engage in discussions here and get to know us as individuals.

Then plan to come visit us as soon as possible. Bring your wife and children. See the thread about the spring camp-out. http://www.fundamentalsoffreedom.com/fswforum/index.php?board=59.0

You'll probably never want to leave. :)
It's not that people are dumber, it's that stupidity used to be more painful.

Latin America is not a good choice. You have absoluty no rights. Here in Wyoming we still have rights. Just got to keep it that way.

MamaLiberty and Crappiewy -

Thank you for the kind words and advice. My wife and I are in initial planning mode for a move to WY sometime in 2013...just need to finish up my final Navy tour. We have done some research and are considering the Sheridan area though we are not locked in at this point on a specific city. With 3 young kids still in the house, a job is going to be a must...

In any case, again, thank you! :-)
